32 Trelissick Loop, Castle Hill Village, Selwyn, Canterbury, 7580, New Zealand

Monni Fraemohs arrived in New Zealand from Denmark with a passion for Danish design and quality. He was inspired by New Zealand’s natural environment and native timbers, and soon his distinctive style began to appear in mountain villages and seaside locations creating holiday homes Kiwis would love. We are privileged to offer one of his quintessential designs, much loved in this all-year-round playground at Castle Hill, an area enjoying its own little microclimate escaping the easterly wind, avoiding West Coast precipitation, and only an hour and fifteen minutes from Christchurch Airport. In the early 1980s the then owner of Castle Hill Station, John Reid, realized his dream of creating an alpine village and now almost 40 years on these holiday homes and sections rarely come up for sale. This is where kiwi kids create lasting memories; building dams and water slides, exploring, biking, tramping and of course family ski days. In recent years the village has seen something of a resurgence and this warm and inviting home was constructed around ten years ago in the alpine style with the Fraemohs signature use of natural timbers, soaring cathedral ceilings and a modern open plan kitchen and living, heated by a wood burner of course. There is a separate living room as well, making this the ideal family holiday house. A sun-drenched north facing deck has expansive views of the Craigieburn Range. Your 538sqm Freehold title feels more like a Park with no fences to hem you in and unbridled access to the village community facilities including a tennis court, Petanque and a children’s playground. Our sellers now reside permanently in Nelson and their wish is for another family to relish this paradise as they have. We recommend you take a drive out here. You and the kids may well be captivated.
