Harking back to yesteryear this Pakawau bach, with lovely polished Rimu floors, and a picture postcard view through two Pohutukawa trees to the beach at the end of the lawn, speaks of relaxed family holidays, fishing and fun. Sure she needs a bit of a spruce up as she is showing her age a bit, but they don’t build houses like this anymore!
This is the part of Pakawau beach that seems to be gaining the sand rather than losing it; the dunes are freshly planted and the sea birds gather on the beach in their hundreds. When the tides out, it’s cockle gathering time, and when the tides in you might just catch a Kingy on the fly!
